Stopping and Starting VMM via Command Line

The VMM Service can be started and started by the Services.msc utility, or via command line

Software: System Center VMM 2012 SP1, VMM 2012 R2

Description

Starting and Stopping Virtual Machine Manager

To Start VMM

  1. Open the Command Prompt as administrator and type
    net start scvmmservice

To Stop VMM

  1. Open the Command Prompt and type
    net stop scvmmservice

If either of these commands fail or hang, the likely cause will be logged in the event viewer under
