Network Tuning – BIOS settings for Mellanox Network cards

This article documents the BIOS parameter settings to achieve the best performance for Mellanox Network Cards used in the IronPOD and Iron Networks CPS compliant products.

 

Applies to:
Iron Networks Products: IronPOD Family of Products, Microsoft CPS
Software: Windows 2012 R2

Description

Adjust the following BIOS settings.

  1. Disable Hyper-Threading
  2. Set CPU Power to High Performance
  1. Boot to BIOS and go to Advanced
  2. Select CPU Configuration
  3. Disable Hyper-Threading
  4. Enable Power Performance Parameters
  5. Go to CPU Power Management Configuration > Power Technology
    Set Power Technology to [Max Performance]
    Set Energy/Performance Bias to [Performance]
  6. Save and reboot
